When entrepreneurs come up with an innovative new product, it is typically with the goal of profit, not charity. However, Daehee Park, a 2009 graduate of Penn State’s College of Information Sciences and Technology (IST) and John Thomas Marino, who studied computer science and math at Penn State from 2006 to 2009, have launched Tuft & Needle, a new online bed company, with the mission of making a good night’s sleep available to everyone—particularly foster children in need.
